This is a exciting news for all of you.
Proxmox just released their new 5.3 version.
It includes a lot of new features and bug fixes.
I just finished update my proxmox box to 5.3 version, the update was flawless and smooth. No reboot required.
If you are using a non-subscription version, you have to change the package list from the proxmox box.
Open up the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-enterprise.list with your favorite editor
and you will see something like
deb https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch pve-enterprise
If you did not purchase the subscription, then it will throw you some errors
you need to change it to
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch pvetest
if you are done, you are ready to update to the lastest version of the Proxmox.
apt update && apt full-upgrade -y
it will update the repositories and upgrade to the lastest version
You can check the version on top left of the web interface.
There were a lot of updated features.
I personally think the biggest and most important feature is made the PCI passthrough easy on GUI.
As you can see, now you can passthrough the PCI Devices easily on GUI.
I have not tested this feature yet, but this feature existed on Proxmox for long time, so I believe this is work as i expected.
I will make a follow up post on how well this PCI passthrough on proxmox works
